Anti-Sexual Harassment Policy

Introduction: VSS College, Jalna, is committed to maintaining a campus environment that respects the dignity of individuals and is free from sexual harassment. This policy aligns with the guidelines of the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition, and Redressal) Act, 2013.

Definition of Sexual Harassment: Sexual harassment includes unwelcome acts or behavior such as physical contact and advances, a demand or request for sexual favors, sexually colored remarks, showing pornography, or any other unwelcome physical, verbal, or non-verbal conduct of a sexual nature.

Internal Complaints Committee (ICC):

  1. The ICC comprises senior faculty members and external experts as prescribed by the Act.
  2. The committee is responsible for receiving and addressing complaints, conducting inquiries, and recommending actions.

Preventive Measures:

  1. Display of the policy and helpline numbers in prominent places.
  2. Organizing sensitization and awareness programs.
  3. Inclusion of gender sensitization in the curriculum.

Complaint Redressal:

  1. Complaints can be submitted in writing to the ICC.
  2. The ICC will conduct a confidential inquiry within 90 days.
  3. Based on findings, disciplinary actions may include suspension, termination, or filing a police complaint.
